Sex and the City…

 

I’m a huge fan of SATC!  I never watched it back when it was on HBO.  But after I got robbed while I was working a little over 2 years ago, I started sleeping on the couch in my apartment with the tv on all night to drown out the sounds I would hear.  I would stay up all night watching the CW channel and SATC reruns would come on.  I fell in love with the show and then we decided to get Netflix because we didn’t have cable at the time.  Of course, I put all of the SATC season on my Queue.

I watched every single episode.  And then I saw the movie.  I loved it.  I’ve always wanted to live in go to New York, and watching SATC makes me want to even more!  A few nights ago, TBS was having a marathon and I was in SATC heaven!  Haha!!

Anyway, I have been seeing previews for SATC2 and I really wanted to go see it yesterday when it came out in theaters, but obviously, I wasn’t able to.  And I don’t even know if I will get to see it at all until it comes out on DVD.  *hmmph*

Oh well. 

Anyway.  While I was watching the marathon, I was admiring all the fabulous clothes on the show.  And SHOES might I add!!!  So, here are a few of my favs…

I don’t really care for the dress in this picture, but I think these are my all time favorite shoes Carrie ever wore!!!  And I wanted to cry when Miranda’s water broke on them in that episode!  (Not really wanted to cry, but close!!!  Haha!)

This is one of my favorite dresses!  She wore this to go out to dinner with the girls on her last night in NYC.  She was moving to Paris with the russian artist dude (I never liked him…)  Anyway, Mr. Big was waiting outside when she came out of her apartment because she hadn’t returned his phone calls.  She should have just ditched the russian then!   But anyway…  I fell in love with this dress!  It’s very feminine and girly!  I would totally wear this dress!

And I guess that is all I can find that I really REALLY liked.  There aren’t a lot of pictures of Carrie Bradshaw’s wardrobe on the internet.  Or at least, I can’t find them! 

Oh well…

A day at the hospital…

My dad had to have a heart catheterization done today.  We went down so that my mom wouldn’t have to sit by herself today.  Sweet Pea hasn’t seen her Papaw Herb in a few weeks so she didn’t know what to think.  She just stared at him for a while.

Then she saw all those wires on his arm and wanted to see what that was all about…

She didn’t pull any of them out, thank goodness!

We sat in the waiting room for a little while.  She got to play with Nana’s (my mom) iPhone because she has an OtterBox case and it won’t break if she drops it.  Ha!  Mine on the other hand doesn’t have a case…

We let her get down and walk around for a little bit.  She enjoyed showing out for the other people in the waiting room.  They all enjoyed it too.

Then after everything was done, we went to the cafeteria to get some lunch.  She was showing out there too.  Flirting and all…  *sigh*  Mommy is not ready for all that!  Haha!

We went back upstairs again and let her run around.  I was trying to get a picture of her outfit (because I thought it was super cute today!) but she was moving so fast, I couldn’t get one…

When we left, she was so tired she was practically asleep before we got out of the parking garage.  I wanted to stop and see my friend, Sarah, so we could discuss a few things about Maranda’s baby shower that is in less than 2 weeks!!!  She was working, so I went and met up with her and let Sweet Pea nap while we talked.  We also got to see Maranda.  She insisted on showing Sweet Pea off to all of her coworkers…  She had been to sleep for about an hour so I let her.  I needed to change her diaper anyway, so we got out for a little while.  She had her first taste of orange Gatorade and liked it.

And you know I couldn’t leave without getting a picture of the baby bump!  Maranda thinks she is going to be the first pregnant superhero!  Ha!

I thought I would include this picture since I put up a video of her climbing on this thing last night.  Seriously… she has pulled and pushed that thing around the living room all evening!!!  She pushed it over there and climbed on it and I think she was about to grab my glass.  She makes me so nervous climbing on that thing!!

So…  that concludes our fun day.  Well… I wouldn’t exactly call it “fun” but we actually got out of the house, so it was something!!  Ha!

And if you are wondering…  Daddy’s cath came back good.  They said he doesn’t have any blockages.  There is signs of blockages beginning, but nothing major.  He just needs to take aspirin and it will take care of it.  They also said he doesn’t need a defibrillator.  His beta blockers are obviously doing him well, so he was instructed to keep taking them.  Anyway, all is good!

I was a climber before I could even walk. I was that little baby that you see in the cartoons that climbs on top of the refrigerator... yep that was me. Literally. (I'll have to get mom to tell me the story about it so I can make sure I am telling it accurately.)

Anyway... Sweet Pea is starting to get in to the climbing mode... I'm not too happy about this. It makes me nervous. But I want her to explore and learn... so I just let her do whatever she is wanting to do, with my supervision of course.

She is only climbing on small stuff right now. Stuff like the toy in the video, she climbs in the shower, she climbs up on my exercise stool, she is trying to climb in her rocking chair, she can climb up the step into Maw Maw's living room from her sun porch... etc. Just stuff that isn't too high off the ground, but still... I don't think I'm ready for this. I can already see us sitting in the ER. And I hate the ER.

I thought I would also include that she didn't get injured while doing this.

Ok, before you watch this video, keep in mind, I have no idea what she is doing... It was hilarious though so I had to get the camera out. Sometimes when she is getting sleepy at night, she will put her head on the floor and crawl around like that. I'm surprised she doesn't get carpet burn on her forehead. Haha. But this time she was standing while rubbing her head on the floor.... and she decided to shake her booty in the process... Mr. Right and I were cracking up at her!

Of course, after I say something to her, she decided to come try to destroy the camera/evidence. I guess she knew I was going to post it on the blog... Haha!

She is saying new words more and more every day. BUT..... she will say something clear as day one minute... and as soon as I get the camera to get it on video... she either doesn't want to talk anymore or she doesn't say it as clearly as she did before. So... this is just a video of her mostly saying "Papaw". She also says her daddy's name. I guess she hears me say it so much that she picked it up from me and totally shocked me the first time she said it! Haha! She can say "cookie" and "cracker" but I haven't been able to get her saying it clearly on video yet. I'm working on it. And tonight she was saying "goggle" for "bottle". That's the first time she has said it. She usually just says "ba ba" for bottle.

Bored bored bored…

Considering my last two posts have been about my obsession for Grey’s Anatomy and me trying to win a giveaway... it’s pretty obvious that we haven’t been up to anything lately.  We haven’t gone anywhere… haven’t done anything…  We have been so bored lately.  Or at least I have been.

I hate sitting around the house all day every day, but I also hate going anywhere because I have to go alone (unless Mr. Right is off work) and it is exhausting trying to keep up with Sweet Pea all by myself.  Oh, and the lack of funds keeps us home a lot.  Oh, and the fact that I have to drive 45 minutes to an hour to get anywhere worth going to.  So anyway… we just don’t get out much lately.

So, it’s just been the same old routine every day…  Wake up, eat breakfast, play, take a nap, wake up, eat lunch, play, take another nap, wake up, play, eat supper, play, take a bath, play, have a bottle, brush teeth, read books, go to bed.  Every… day…

I’m just slightly bored. 

But anyway…  Here are a few pictures…

She has been putting stuff on her head a lot lately.  Burp cloths, blankets, clothes that are lying around, hats, my headbands, etc…  Anyway.  It’s funny and cute.

 

I saw this hat sitting on the shelf in her room the other day and I wanted to see if it still fit.  (I believe it goes with a 3-6 month outfit.)  Obviously, it doesn’t.  Haha!  She looks silly with it on.  But she walked around with it on for a while.  And then she took it off and put it back on over and over again.

She went to Maw Maw and Paw Paw’s this afternoon because they bought her a toy.  Elmo.  So, she went for a ride in her toy wagon with her Elmo.  She takes up the whole thing so you can only see the wheels.  Too funny!

Then she just decided out of nowhere to do the bear crawl thing.  This cracks me up!

She has been fascinated with the lacey curtains at Maw Maw’s lately.  She gets behind them…

And then she runs out!  It’s another kind of peek-a-boo!

And then she pulled the curtain rod down… and she fled the crime scene.  Great action shot I think!  Haha!

Then, I guess she thought that Paw Paw needed help putting it back up…

Wait… no…  She decided to play some more!  Haha!

I might get bored sometimes…  But really… there isn’t a dull moment when she’s around!

Grey’s finale…

WARNING!!!  There are spoilers in here (the whole post is pretty much a spoiler!  Ha!), so if you haven’t watched it yet and plan on watching it…. TURN AWAY NOW!  And before you read this… I want to say that, yes I know that this is just a tv show.  I know that from the medical aspect, most of it is not accurate.  But that’s not why I watch the show.  I like drama (on tv, not in real life!).  Some may think I am silly for getting in to this show like I do, but oh well.  It entertains me, and I like it.  I’m sure there are shows that other people like that I don’t get in to (Real Housewives of wherever)… But I like what I like.  You like what you like.  Anyway.

I cheated and watched the first few minutes of the finale on abc.com the other day.  So, I knew who the shooter was.  I kind of figured it was going to be him anyway.

Ok.  I’m not going to do a play by play (well kind of) but I’m going to give my opinion on certain points.

DR. Reed Adamson was the first to get wacked.  And I capitalized the DR because she made it very clear to Mr. Clark that she was a DOCTOR before he shot her.  After the way she acted… all high and mighty… I was kind of glad they killed her off.  I never liked her anyway.

Then, Alex walks up right after the dude shot her and he shoots Alex in the side!  I figured when I saw where he got shot, they weren’t going to let him die.  And I’m glad they didn’t!

Anywho…  from then on, it is just like a whirlwind of shootings!

I didn’t want Dr. Percy to die though.  I liked him ok…  But oh well.  I’d rather it be him than Dr. Bailey.  Smart call on her saying she was a nurse!  It saved her life!  I just knew she was going to save him, but she couldn’t get him to an OR because the elevators were turned off.  And why did he have a crush on Reed???  Eww…  Oh well.  She’ll never know because she is dead.

As far as this Mark-Lexie-Alex thing goes…  I want Mark and Lexie to be together.  Wasn’t Alex calling Lexie Izzie when he was like almost dead??  I kind of missed that part…  Facebook wouldn’t have anything to do with that…  Haha!  Anyway.  I want Lexie and Mark to get back together and get married and have McSteamy babies!!

I was all excited about Meredith being preggers.  And then she went and had a miscarriage…  :-(  I was boo hooing!!!!!!

Oh… by the way… this is not in the order it all happened on the show.  Just sayin’…  I’m just typing as I remember it.

Anywho.  So, Cristina and Owen broke up.  I bet they will get back together though.  I’m not sure how I feel about this whole situation.  I don’t know if I want them together or not.  But I do know that I want Teddy gone.  I’m not a fan of hers…

Derek might not have gotten shot if stupid April had stayed in the office like she was told!!  Ugh!  I pretty much figured that he wasn’t going to die, but I was scared for a second because he was shot in the heart.

Then it was like… oh crap… no Attending on the floor… who is going to do the surgery??  Then Christina rocked it!

When Owen came back and was going in the OR to see if Cristina needed help, the way he acted made me think he was going to do something crazy… like maybe finish Derek off because he didn’t fire Teddy when he asked him to…  I didn’t know what was going on!!!  But it turns out… the shooter was in there!!  DUH!!!!  Haha!  I know… my thought process is screwy sometimes…  Anyway!  Meredith jumps in the OR and is all like… “Shoot me!  I’m his wife.  If you want him to hurt like you do, then shoot me!”  Umm… NO!!!  Then Cristina is all like… “No!  She’s pregnant!”  And he ends up shooting Owen in the middle of all of this.

Avery made a smart call by unhooking the machine and making it look like Derek was dead.  When that happened, I kind of freaked out a bit, but then I was like… no… he’s not dead.  And I figured he unhooked it… and he did.  Whew!  Mr. Clark leaves after he thinks Derek is dead.

Cristina gets back to fixing Derek up.  She tells Meredith and April to take Owen and deal with him.  He had a through and through shot in the shoulder.  He was fine.  This is when Meredith has her miscarriage.

Webber somehow makes it into the hospital.  He finds Mr. Clark and they have a heart to heart.  I thought Richard was going to drink that vodka at one point, but then I thought… No, he’s come too far.  They aren’t going to let him fall of the wagon.  And he didn’t.  Good going Richard!  So… the dude only has one bullet left.  He can’t decide to shoot himself or Webber…  (I think that’s what was going on…  I was FBing again.)  Swat starts to come in… they take the cameras off of them… and BANG!!!  Webber or Clark?!?!???!?!?

It was Clark.  Whew!

Anywho.  Great finale!!  Had me on the edge of my seat the whole time!!  I just hate the long wait until the next season.

All of my shows are off now.  Grey’s is off.  Desperate Housewives is off.  Private Practice… Brothers and Sisters…  Dancing with the Stars will be off after this Monday.  It’s going to be a sad summer for tv.  Haha.

Well… I will have the Bachelorette to watch.  *Barf*  I didn’t like Ali last season.  And I still don’t like her.  She was a horrible actress.  Yes.  She was acting.  She was putting on a show when she had to choose between her job and Jake.  And then when she plopped down in the hall that time…  Puh-leez!  She looked like a 5 year old that didn’t get her way!  Oh well.  I’m going to watch it anyway because it’s good entertainment and it cracks me up.

And I’ll have Drop Dead Diva to watch on Lifetime.  I loved that show!!  It should be back on in June.

And to replace Grey’s for the summer…  They have a new show coming on called Rookie Blue.  Cop show, of course.  Right up my alley.  :-)  I’ll be watching that on Thursdays from now on.

Maybe my summer of tv won’t be too bad…

Just like the olden days…

Warning…  This post is about baby poop.  Just so you know…

This evening, we have been living like the olden days…

Sweet Pea had some serious butt rash come up this evening because… call me crazy, but her poop doesn’t stink (sometimes).  I’m being dead serious.  There have been so many times in the past few months that she pooped and I never knew it until I changed her diaper and I was like… “Whoa!  Where did that come from?!”  Anyway…

 

She doesn’t get diaper rash very often at all.  I try to keep her dry and when she poops, I always go ahead and change her within a few minutes after she is done because, who wants to sit in their own poop?!  Not me!  So why would I let my daughter? 

 

Well, apparently tonight… she did a stinky and I never knew it because I never smelled anything (keep in mind, I can usually smell her from across the room… my nose is that good!).  And I didn’t notice her grunting.  So, I went to change her diaper because I figured she was wet and it was time to change her… and surprise!!!  And under the poop was a nice little rash.  *sigh*….  Made me feel like the worst mother ever.  She never fussed or cried, so I didn’t know anything of it!  But I just felt like it was my fault.

I gave her a bath and let her soak in the water for a little bit.  I was tempted to let her walk around naked for a while just so she could get some air on it, but I didn’t want her peeing everywhere.  So… we went back to the olden days and got out the cloth diapers (so I could tell when she wet and I could keep her dry until bedtime).  We used them for a little while when she was younger, but we used the covers on them so when she wet them, it didn’t wet her clothes.  But I decided to just do it the old way with the diaper pins.  And it is the cutest thing I have ever seen.  Haha! 

Anyway.  I snapped a few pictures because I thought she looked precious in her old timey cloth diaper. 

And this picture below was just funny to me…  She is cutting those eyes at me!!  I wonder where she gets that look from?!  Ha!  (She was actually looking at the tv and when I called her name, she just looked over without turning her head.  Resulting in a very cute picture.  Haha!)

I’m actually thinking about going back to cloth diapers now (for when we are at home).  The reason I stopped using them before was because we had just started feeding her baby food and it wasn’t as easy to clean up her “new” kind of dirty diaper anymore.  I guess I was just being lazy…?  Oh well.  We’ll see…

Anyway…  I put a ton of Butt Paste and baby powder on her before bed, so hopefully we will wake up to a clear booty!

I just love to watch Sweet Pea dance.  It is so cute and funny!  And I thought this was especially cute because toward the end, the song gets faster and she starts moving her hands really fast trying to keep up with it.  Anyway... I thought it was cute.  :-)

Feeding herself...

I decided to be brave and let Sweet Pea feed herself with a fork...  A kid fork that is...  Anyway.  Y'all know I hate when she gets food every where because I hate a mess, but I figured she has to learn sometime.  She doesn't really know how to get the food on the fork yet, but she can surely get the food in her mouth!  Haha!  She's growing up so fast!

Oh well...  At least I got it on video this time.  It won't be long before she's saying it again.

God, I can hear you… loud and clear!!

Have you ever prayed about something and you just never feel like God was giving you an answer?  Well, that’s the way I ALWAYS feel!!

I’ve always heard people say that “God spoke to them” and I have always thought to myself, “You mean, like you actually heard him talk??”  Haha.  But seriously…  In my 27 25 years of life (haha), I honestly don’t feel like He’s ever spoke to me.  Until this morning…

I can’t go into detail about what it is, but there is something that Mr. Right and I have been discussing lately and we didn’t know quite what to do.  And I will be honest, I haven’t sincerely prayed about the situation yet…  But this just goes to show that God knows exactly what is going on in our minds and he can (and will) step in whenever he has to!  He is all-knowing…. He is awesome!

Anyway…  we had plans this afternoon to go check on something dealing with this situation, but Mr. Right called me this morning on his way home from work and what he told me was like BAM!  Kind of like driving down the road and seeing a HUGE billboard with a message on it specifically written for YOU!!  I thought, “Wow… So this is what it means to have God speak to you!”  You don’t have to actually hear him…  He obviously speaks to us in so many different ways.  And today, even though I didn’t actually hear Him talk to me… I definately “heard” him loud and clear!!!! 

Thank you God!  Message received!  :-)

13 Months Old!

Sweet Pea is 13 months old today!  Yay!

Here are a few pictures from today.  I was having a hard time getting her to smile.  But she still looks cute!

She’s going to hate me for this one some day…  Haha!

Anyway.  Isn’t she a doll!

It doesn’t seem like much has changed over the past month, but I know she is just learning so much every day!!!

We will start with food…

She is doing better about eating some foods.  As long as it doesn’t have a slimey (sp?) texture (like some fruit and veggies) she will pretty much eat it.  So… that pretty much leaves us with nothing but carbs… 

She likes, french fries, macaroni and cheese, crackers, bread (turkey and cheese sandwiches), cinnamon rolls, pizza casserole, homemade chicken pot pie (there are some veggies in it), chicken casserole, mashed potatoes, broccoli and cheese, squash (just tried it the other day), cereal bars, Gerber Graduates yogurt blends, still loves the Graduates puffs, crunchies, and yogurt melts, still eating some baby food here and there, and I’m sure there are some other things that I’m forgetting… but oh well.  That’s the jist of it. 

Some days she likes juice and some days she won’t have it at all!  I guess she just has to be in the mood for it.  I discovered these sippy cups. 

They are Playtex brand.  We have been using these a lot lately.  It seems to work better.

I have been letting her try feeding herself some.  I’ll put some food on a fork or spoon and give it to her to put in her mouth.  Sometimes it ends up in the floor… and sometimes it ends up in her mouth.  Haha!  It mostly ends up in her mouth though, so that’s good. 

I bought some of those bowls with the suction on the bottom.  I’m thinking about letting her have at it tomorrow night.  *sigh*  I don’t know if I’m ready though….  Haha!  Mommy hates a mess!  Even though we get a bath after supper…

Anyway.  Enough about food.

She is starting to say some words on demand.  This is too precious.  Her latest word is “Ahme”  which means “Amen”.  After I read her books to her at night, I tell her, “Let’s say our prayer!” and she will put her hands together and I will say the prayer and then I say “Amen” and she will say “Ahme”.  TOOOOOOOO PRECIOUS!!!  Makes me want to cry! 

She is also trying to say other words too.  She will jibber jabber off a sentence and of course I have no idea what she is saying, but it’s really cute!

She likes to go a lot.  When we wake up in the morning, it’s not long before she is saying, “Gotta go go go!”  She’s such a busy body!

She loves to play Peek-a-boo!  She just started doing this a couple of weeks ago.  I have a video of her doing this, but I haven’t taken the time to upload it yet.  Anyway, it’s so cute!

Goodness…  I feel like I’m forgetting some stuff.  It seems like she’s doing something new every day!  But oh well…  That’s all I can think of for now.  You know I’ll post more when I can think of more!

Happy 13 Months Sweet Pea!  I love you baby girl!
