First “real” hair cut!

Friday we ventured down to T-town…  My mom had a job interview, so we went to see her afterwards.  I texted my hairstylist to see if she could squeeze Sweet Pea in.  I’ve been debating getting her hair trimmed.  It’s so pretty long, but it is all stringy and uneven.  So… I decided to go ahead and do it.

I was trying to get a cute picture of her before we left the house.  She doesn’t cooperate very well when the camera is out.  And that’s why I never post pictures anymore!  :-/

Walking away as I was taking the picture….

SDC17019

Not wanting to face the camera… but you can see how long her hair is and see how uneven it is in this one.

SDC17020

Me bribing her to stand still….

SDC17021

Finally a cute one!  She was actually saying “cheeeeeese”.

SDC17022

And this time I said, “Show mommy your teeth!!!”  And she smiled.  Haha!

SDC17023

We went to the mall to kill some time while mom was in her interview.  Sweet Pea loves the “watie” (water).

SDC17024

After the mall, we went to Sweet Pea’s appointment.  She got about an inch or an inch and a half cut off.  She was very good sitting there all by herself.  She did get a little distracted a time or two because there was an itty bitty baby there.  But she did very well!

After!  She still has some curl to it, but it looks so much better now that it’s more one length.

SDC17029

She was trying to be shy and not wanting to look at the camera…. Surprise surprise….

SDC17030

We met up with my mom afterwards.  We all went to McDonald’s to get something cold to drink.  I’m obsessed with their frozen strawberry lemonade!!  We were going to go to the park, but we decided to give the McDonald’s playground a shot…  Sweet Pea just stood around and watched all the 500 kids run around.  She didn’t play at all.  So… we said forget it and went to the park.

We were the only one’s there and she was fine with that… we were too!  I didn’t have to worry about my child getting trampled by 5 year olds….

SDC17031

SDC17032

She was not scared of the slide at all!

SDC17034

SDC17035

She wanted daddy to go down the slide… so he did!  Anything to make his little girl happy!  Haha!

SDC17045

She wanted to try out the swing, but I think she is a little too small for it right now…  She didn’t stay on it long.

We had a fun day!  It was nice outside because we were in the shade and it was very cloudy.  We hope to have more pleasant days like that for the rest of the summer!

Being silly, as  usual!

I told her to make a funny face, and this is what she gave me!  Haha!  She’s just too cute!

I thought I would make pool time more fun…

One of our visits to see Charli and Maranda…

IMG_0547

We had lunch at Olive Garden.  Sweet Pea ended up eating more of Charli’s baby food that she did pizza!  Haha… eww…..

We all went to Target afterwards.  Best friends holding hands!!  How sweet!

This was another time we went down to visit.  Sweet Pea had to check out Charli’s ball pit.

IMG_0748

She thought she had to be right in Charli’s face to talk to her!  It was quite funny.

IMG_0750

Charli got a big ol’ kiss from her!  Haha!  Adorable!!

Charli is so precious!!

I had to snap a picture of Sweet Pea’s chocolate covered face one night after she ate a fudge ice cream bar!  She definitely enjoyed it!

Sweet Pea and her Daddy on Father’s Day 2011.  He looks like he is cheesing big time…  He literally is because he was saying to Sweet Pea, “Say cheeeeeeese!”

Enjoying a book with Uncle Jerome

IMG_0812

We discovered Edy’s fruit bars.  Those things are so delish!  She’s munching on a peach one.  They are better than ice cream!

This is one of the 3 pictures I still had on my phone from her first trip to the zoo.  You can tell she was hot and sweaty!  Maybe next time we go, we can get there when it opens and it might not be so hot…??  And maybe next time she won’t delete all the pictures from my phone…

4th of July 2011… Eating ribs with mommy!

IMG_0915

We played around taking pictures after supper that night.  She loves seeing herself on the phone.  It’s the only way I can get some good smiles out of her!

IMG_0918

She loves making faces at herself on the phone.  I just love that girl!

IMG_0921

Anywho… This is all I have for now.  I haven’t been taking pictures much lately because it’s hard to get Sweet Pea to sit still long enough to get any… and I haven’t really had many photo opportunities lately.  I need to get better about it though.  But for now… I guess that’s it.

17 weeks!

How far along:  17 weeks and one day…

Size of baby:  Weighs about as much as a turnip….

Total weight gain:  I’m going to say about 7 lbs… maybe???  I had gained 3 lbs last Tuesday when I went to the doctor.  But he said we would only count it as 1 since I had lost 2 at my visit before that…  I think I’m doing ok so far…  I’m expecting a growth spurt soon though.  It’s just about time for one…

Maternity clothes:  I haven’t bought any that I’ve kept…  I went to look for a dress the other day.  I bought one and a pair of pants, but I returned them both…  I really hate shopping for myself.  My scrubs are getting a little snug in the pants.  The tops are still ok.  But I’m sure that won’t be the case much longer…

Gender: Don’t know… and not going to find out!  I could have found out the other day, but I stayed strong and said no!  (More on that later….)

Movement:  Nothing really solid yet.  I sometimes think I feel something and when I put my hand on my belly, it’s really tight feeling in that spot…  So, I’m sure it IS the baby.  I just haven’t felt any strong jabs or kicks yet.

Sleep:  It’s getting worse.  It’s hard to get comfortable at night.  When I do fall asleep, I don’t sleep very well…  I’m thinking about buying one of those maternity pillows.

What I miss: Nothing that I can think of at the moment…

Cravings:  Still craving sour stuff occasionally.  The craving is not as bad as it once was though.  I have been eating the pickles from the cafeteria at work every. single. day. that I am there.  I lurve them!!!

Symptoms:  Still nauseated.  I have thrown up a couple of times in the past week.  Yesterday at work was one of the times…  Urine.  Really gross urine.  (I work in a lab at a hospital…)  I had to run to the bathroom and literally throw up.  Fun times……  I’m also experiencing some carpal tunnel syndrome lately.  That’s not a good thing when you are holding a needle in someone’s arm and your hand starts getting tingly and numb….

Food aversions:  Nothing that I can think of…

Milestones:  Umm…..  I can never think of any???????

So anyway….  We went to the baby doctor for a check up last Tuesday.  The nurse was trying to find the heartbeat on the doppler thingy.  After a few minutes of her digging that thing in my stomach, she says…

Nurse:  “I’m having some trouble finding it…”

Me:  “Yeah… You’re starting to freak me out a little!”

Nurse:  “It’s probably just hiding….  We will do an ultrasound if I can’t find it.”

Me:  “Ok………..”

Nurse:  Digs even more for like another minute or two…

Nurse:  “We’ll just do an ultrasound.”

She wiped the goop off my belly and left the room as quick as she could!!  I sat up, started freaking out and crying.  Mr. Right started tearing up…  We were scared.

When I was pregnant with Sweet Pea, they never had any problems finding the heartbeat… so this was a first.

Shortly after that, the ultrasound tech came and got us and was able to find it with no problem.  It was 149.

IMG_0966

After she found the heartbeat, she said, “We can probably see what the baby is, if you want.”  I blurted out before she could say anything else, “NO! I DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!”

She said “Ok, we won’t even look then.”  Haha!

IMG_0968

I’m supposed to have the detailed ultrasound at my next visit, so hopefully I can stay strong then too.

Hopefully we won’t have any more scares like that.  Praying for a healthy baby!

Grounded for life!

Well… Sweet Pea is officially grounded.

That’s right people…. at age TWO!

What could you possibly ground a 2 year old from?????

My phone.

First of all…  She is totally obsessed with the phone.  She wants it 24/7.  She has probably spent more time on it than I have.  She knows how to operate it better than me….

So what’s the problem??  Why am I grounding her from it???

Because she deleted pictures that were not saved to the computer yet!!!!!!!  (Oh… and because I’m tired of her randomly calling people…)

So yeah… Last night I was going through my phone and noticed some of the pictures that I had taken yesterday afternoon were not on there anymore.  I was a little frustrated at that point because I knew that she had deleted them.  And then I noticed that I only had 3…. THREE pictures from her first trip to the zoo left on my phone!!!!

I was livid!!!  She deleted all the pictures I had taken except the one of her and her daddy, a blurry picture of a monkey, and a picture of some parrots.  Ugh….

And then!!!!!!  Just now… as I was saving what was left of them onto the computer, I noticed that the last set of pictures I saved was 0818.  And the next set started at 0876.  So…. I don’t even know what all she deleted between 0818 and 0876….

I’m just a little frustrated.  But I’ll get over it.

I do have a solution though…

No… I’m not going to buy her a phone of her own.  She’s 2 for crying out loud!!

I am going to let her have my old iPhone though…  She usually doesn’t want to play with it.  She always wants MY phone… the newer iPhone.  High maintenance ya think????  But… she is going to have to settle for the old one or nothing at all.  Mommy’s phone is off limits from now on!!!!  I’ll let y’all know how that goes….  Ha!
