Mr. Right and I never went on a honeymoon. And since we are going to have TWO children come December…. We decided to take a vacation ALL BY OURSELVES!
We decided to go to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, TN. Yes, we went there last year for our family vacation with my in-laws, but there was a lot of stuff we wanted to do last year that we didn’t get to.
So, we went and had a good ol’ time! It was so nice to get away alone… and go out to eat and have a peaceful meal… and come and go when we wanted to…
But with all that said…. WE DID MISS OUR SWEET PEA!!
I didn’t take a lot of pictures…. well…. I didn’t take a lot of pictures of the mountains… I took the most at the aquarium (as you will see…) I, literally, took over 100 pictures on my phone of the aquarium because I wanted Sweet Pea to have new pictures to look at when she takes over my phone. Haha! But in general, I just wasn’t really in a picture taking mood while we were there.
We went on the sky lift (below)… which was a big accomplishment for me since I’m terrified of heights. I was so scared at first…. but I made it alright. The view was beautiful from way up!
I’m surprised I didn’t lose my shoes going on the sky lift! Ha!
We saw this little fella on our way back to our car. These ducks are so pretty!! I had to snap a picture… (There is another one in the bushes, but he was hiding…)
Aquarium pictures…
Jelly fish always fascinate me. They just look so cool. These were itty bitty jelly fish…
SHARK!!!!!!
This is while we were in the tunnel thingy. Mr. Right is pointing at a shark.
Stingrays are pretty cool too….
HUGE jelly fish…
The penguins were so darn cute!!! I wanted to take one home with me! Haha!
Mr. Right in the Penguin Playhouse. There was a little tunnel to crawl in…
We went Gem Mining… one of my favorite things to do in the mountains!! If you’ve never been… they give you a bucket of “dirt” and it has gems in it. You sift it through water and get to keep whatever you find in your bucket. We found some pretty big stones. I’d like to get something made for Sweet Pea out of what we found.
And that’s all for the pictures.
We also went to the Titanic Museum. We couldn’t take pictures there. It was fun and nice. The only downside to it… it took like 2 HOURS to walk through it and see everything. I was tired and hungry by the time we got done. Haha!
We went tubing down the Little River. I really wanted to go white water rafting, but it didn’t sound like such a good idea being pregnant… and the websites even said they wouldn’t let you go if you were 2 or 3 months preggers… so we had to say no to that… Instead, we just went tubing. It probably wasn’t the greatest idea still…. but I didn’t think it would be too rough. And it wasn’t. To me at least…
Mr. Right SOMEHOW got flipped off of his tube and hit his shoulder on a rock (AND he lost his $3 flip flops that we had just bought). He couldn’t get back on the tube and I was just a floating by and couldn’t stop! He eventually got back on and was ok! Haha!
We were floating peacefully later on and all of a sudden Mr. Right says, “Ummmm…..” I look over toward him and there is a SNAKE in the water just a few feet from him… His head was poking up out of the water and you could see his body just underwater. Mr. Right was slowly paddling away from it. I said… “Is that what I think it is?!?!?!?!?!?!” He says…. “Yep….. just stay calm…….” I lifted my butt up as much as I could… trying to get it out of the water… (it didn’t work)… The snake dips back down in the water. I didn’t know which way it went!!!! I started freaking out and paddling away as fast as I could!!! Luckily, we could see our exit from where we were. I was soooo happy to get out of the water at that point!!! Mr. Right asked me if I wanted to go down the river again (we could go as many times as we wanted until they closed)… I gave him a quick HECK NO!!!!!!
It was really fun and relaxing. But I doubt I will ever go tubing again… I don’t care to swim with snakes. I think I will stick to white water rafting from now on since my whole body will be in a raft!!! I’ll just have to plan our next trip when I’m not pregnant! Ha!
We had a great time together and it was much needed after the past few months (especially for Mr. Right)!
