Ok, so I’m back. I’m off work for a week and I am soooooooo happy about it! I’m worn out!!!!!! I figured I would get more sleep working nights, but that isn’t the case. I didn’t realize how much effort it takes to get Sweet Pea up in the mornings and fed and dressed and IN A GOOD MOOD (she’s not a morning person and it takes her a little while to get good and awake… and happy)… So, it takes a while for us to get to school. I get off work at 6:30am and we are lucky to make it to school by 9:00!!! Haha!! My goal in the beginning of all of this was to drop her off at 8 every morning and be home and in bed by 9… Bahahaha!!!! Sleep until 3 (6 hours of sleep)… Pick her up by 4… But that isn’t exactly how it goes. Some days I don’t get to sleep until 10:30 or 11. But anyway… On with the bullets and randomness…
- I have decided to do the lady bug theme for Sweet Pea’s birthday party. I was looking up stuff on Etsy and I found lots of cute things with lady bugs. (And I’m trying to steer away from so much pink in general… And if it wasn’t for the lady bugs, we would probably be having a pink and black zebra party! Haha!) I have ordered her birthday outfit. It think it’s going to be adorable!!!!! I’m super excited about it. I’m about to order her invitations so I can get them out in the next couple of weeks. I think I’ve decided to just have it outside here at our house, if the weather permits. If not, we will probably take it inside at Maw Maw’s since her house is bigger than ours. So, I’m getting excited about her birthday stuff finally. :-)
- She is counting to 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Believe it or not… I was shocked myself!! I was going to do a video of it tonight, but she was in an ill mood (I’ll explain that in a minute…) So, I will try to get that tomorrow or sometime this week.
- Her ill mood tonight… I have decided it’s time to take the pacifier away. I took it away from her when I got her from school today. She asked for it on the way home, but I told her it had to go bye bye and she was a big girl! She fussed a little, but I started singing to her and getting her to count for me and she forgot about it until we got home. She was in the floor flopping around fussing for it at one point. But I was strong and held my ground. I didn’t give it to her until I put her in bed tonight and she pretty much went to bed instantly! (She didn’t nap much at school today.) I’m going to wean her off of it at night.
- As far as school is going, we keep getting a better report every day. They have changed teachers a couple of times, so I think that kind of threw her off a little. I think they have a really good one in there right now though. For a little while there, every time I checked the cameras, she would be crying and begging the teacher to pick her up and it just broke my heart. But in the past few days with the new teacher, I have actually seen her down playing some, so that makes me feel much better. Her new teacher has two young children of her own and seems to be very loving and caring (not that the teacher before that wasn’t). But the other teacher doesn’t have children of her own and doesn’t have that motherlyness to her (<----how do you like my new word?! Ha!). So I think that made a big difference. The owners of the school were thinking the same thing before I ever mentioned anything to them about it and were contemplating changing teachers anyway. So I’m kind of glad they changed teachers. I’m also going to send her 5 days a week for the next 2 or 3 weeks (starting Monday) to see if going every day is going to help get her used to it quicker. I hate to send her when I’m off work, but I might just do it for half a day on my off days. So anyway… I’ll keep y’all posted on that!
