A few updates…

Well… I went 4 full days with NO SWEET TEA!  I think that was pretty darn good!  I fell off the wagon today though.  I had three glasses tonight….  I have been drinking a little water…. and several diet sodas the past few days.  More soda than water, but it’s diet so I guess it’s better than sugary tea.  Anyway.  Going to try to get back on the wagon tomorrow.

If you didn’t read the Leash??? post, then you missed me saying that I bought the Biggest Loser Cardio Max dvd.  And I tried it out last night.  I decided to go with the Maximum Results option.  Apparently for the first 2 weeks you do Level 1, then the 3rd and 4th week..Level 1 and 2, then weeks 5 and 6 you do Level 1, 2, and 3.

So, I started with Level 1 last night.  My legs felt like they were going to fall off just minutes in to it.  Mr. Right was sitting there telling me, “You can do it!  Don’t stop.”  If it hadn’t been for him saying that, I would have quit after 5 minutes!  Ha!  But I kept going.  I didn’t use weights this time.  And there were even times that I had to stop what they were doing on the video because I just couldn’t handle it and I just marched in place to keep my heart rate up.  I was sweating like crazy (Ewww!  I hate to sweat!).  My heart was pounding out of my chest.  I just can’t imagine what it’s going to be like when I move up to Level 1 and 2!  Some of the reviews said that Jillian (Level 2) will kick your butt!!!  *sigh*…  But I guess that’s what I need in order to get this weight off!

Anyway.  As for today…  I have been walking around like an old lady.  I was so sure that my legs were going to be killing me today, but they felt fine.  My lower back, on the other hand, has been hurting sooooooo bad!  I feel so old and out of shape!  And I have had absolutely no energy today…whatsoever!  I took two naps!  TWO!!  I took one with Sweet Pea this morning.  Then when she went to Maw Maw’s today, I took another one.  I almost took a third one when she came home and took her nap!  But I didn’t.

Tonight I will not be doing the BLCM video because my back still feels like it is going to break if I bend it the wrong way.  As long as I do the video 4-5 times a week, I should see results.  But I am thinking about doing my Firm Ab Sculpt video tonight just to give me something to do.

I’ll keep y’all updated on how this is going.

And I will leave you with a few photos of Sweet Pea!

She’s trying to give her baby kisses.  How sweet!  (Don’t mind the bed head…)

Eating bananas for breakfast!  Yum!

She was about to go ride in the wagon with Paw Paw.  I just thought this outfit was so cute on her so I had to snap a picture.  She looks like such a big girl with her sneakers on!  Haha.  She also had a bow in her hair early, but she kept pulling it out….  I have already told her that Mommy is going to win this battle of the bows!!!  ;-)

 SDC12961

She has been crossing her arms like this a little lately.  It’s too cute when she does this.

 SDC12962

She loves dogs (that is Paw Paw’s dog).  I think she was even saying “dog” or something like it.  We have been trying to get her to say it for a while.  She was talking up a storm to him!  Haha.  She even pet his nose.  It was cute.  (And of course we wiped her hands off afterwards).

Mommy and Me Monday!

Yay for Monday and pictures with my baby girl!!

I had Mr. Right snap these just minutes ago because I don’t think we took any this week…

It was hard trying to get her to keep the flower headband on, so we had to snap that one quick!!

SDC12936

And then Mommy decided to wear it for laughs!  Kisses from my girl!

Leash???

I’m sure you’ve all seen these Child Safety Harness backpack looking things…

dogharness

Here’s a little story…

I was in T-town last night and I went to Target to get a workout video.  As I’m walking in the store I see a hysterical woman at the front yelling her child’s name.  She kept saying, “How could this happen?!  How could this happen?!”  The manager dude was going over his walkie talkie telling the other employees what to be on the look out for.

My thoughts were…  I felt sorry for this mother because she couldn’t find her child.  I was worried that the child had gotten snatched up by someone.  I wanted to help find the child.  But then I started thinking…  What if I were in her situation…  How would I react…?  What would I do…?  I started tearing up just thinking about it.  (It seems that I tear up or cry over everything now-a-days….)

At that point, someone announced for everyone to be on the look out for…and they gave her name, her stats, and what she was wearing.  So I started walking to the back of the store to get my video…looking down the isles and under the clothes racks as I was going back there.  I immediately thought that she might be in the clothing hiding under the racks.  That’s just what kids like to do, right?!  So, I get to the back and I’m getting my video and an employee walks by and I hear on his walkie talkie that they have found the girl and it sounded like they said she was in the women’s clothing.

So, I go to the front to check out.  My conversation with the cashier went something like this…

Me:  Where did they find the girl.
Cashier:  Over by the dressing room under the racks in the women’s clothing.
Me:  That’s what I figured.  Kids like to get under those clothing racks!  I’m a believer in using those safety harnesses!!
Cashier:  Oh, you mean the leash!!
Me:  Yeah, the leash……

Anyway…..  Call it whatever you want…  I don’t care.  My child will be wearing one.  My MIL has already bought Sweet Pea one for when we go on our family trip to the mountains this summer.

Some people think they are “wrong” because it’s as if you are treating your child like a dog.

I mean…if you think about it.  You train a dog to act the way you want it to.  And you raise your children to act a certain way…..  But I don’t look at using those safety harnesses as “treating them like dogs”.

I look at it like this…  If you have your child on a safety harness, they are less likely to get kidnapped while being out in big crowded areas.  They are less likely to get away from you in a store and get under the racks so then you think someone has kidnapped them.  And having them wear a safety harness will teach them that they are not suppose to run off from you in public.

I know everyone has their own opinion on this subject…  That’s mine!!

This is totally off the subject of that… But I chose the Biggest Loser Cardio Max video (even thought I don’t watch the show…).  I am going to give it a try tonight.  I hope it is effective!

Hope you all have a great week!

Fashion Friday…my way…

Before you go thinking that I am going to be modeling a cute outfit…..think again!  Ha!  If you haven’t caught on by now, I don’t have very many things in my closet that aren’t stained or have holes…  So… I thought I would model the best dressed person in our family.

(Yes, I know there is someone out there that has a Fashion Friday blog hop thingy, but I’m not trying to get in on that or steal anyone’s ideas.  This is something I’m doing for myself and it gives me a chance to get a few cute pictures of Sweet Pea.)

She was looking quite cute today….if I do say so myself!  ;-)  It would have been cuter if she had some white shoes!!  The girl still hasn’t called me to let me know if they are in yet.  It’s been 2 weeks……….  So, I just might go elsewhere because Easter is next Sunday and she has to have white shoes by then.  Oh well…

SDC12905

Outfit deets (is that the word people use?!):

  • Carter’s white cardigan- gift from Nana (my mom)
  • Blue shirt bought at Wal-Mart (it’s actually a dress, but it is 3-6 months and I thought she would wear it now as a dress)- less than $10 probably
  • Granimals white leggings bought from Wal-Mart- probably less than $4
  • Pediped black shoes bought from their online store- $32 (I know I know…crazy!  But I wanted some soft sole shoes so it would be easier to walk in and they just aren’t cheap!)
  • Blue bow bought from Wal-Mart- I bought the whole pack and it was probably a couple of dollars…

The pictures below is her wearing the same dress as a dress when she was at her 4 month check up.  I loved this outfit and still do!

I’m going to a wedding shower for one of my old co-workers tomorrow night since our trip to Ocean Springs was canceled….  :-(  I was really looking forward to it too!!  Hopefully we can get down there sometime this summer.

Have a great weekend!

Five Question Friday!

My Little Life

1. Did you pass your driver's test on the first try?

Yes.  I thought I wasn’t going to though because when I was doing my 3 point turn, the car cut off twice and I had turn it back on.  It was embarrassing.  But it was something I couldn’t control.  It was an ‘89 Lincoln Towncar.  Haha…

2. What is your most embarrassing moment?

I’ve had too many to pick!!  Ok…read the above answer.  Peeing in my pants in the middle of the class in the 2nd grade (I’m almost positive that happened!  My memory is a little foggy though.)  Sending a text message to the wrong friend….  I was complaining about my BFF always waiting til the last minute to get ready to go somewhere and running late, and I sent the message to her instead of the other friend we were going to meet.  It’s quite funny now, but then I was worried about how she was going to react when she read it and embarrassed at the same time.  I played it off like I was trying to be funny.  Good thing she has a sense of humor….  I guess that’s enough…

3. What TV show would you like to be on- Oprah, Biggest Loser, or What Not to Wear?

If you read the post before this one, you can pretty much guess that I want to be on The Biggest Loser.  Although, I have never watched a full episode.  I wouldn’t care to be on Oprah.  And What Not To Wear wouldn’t hurt considering I can only fit a few things in my closet and they are all pretty much stretchy clothes and t-shirts with stains and holes!

4. Would you ever get plastic surgery and what kind?

Umm…  Years ago I would have said absolutely not!!  But at this point in my life, I am seeing every single imperfection on my body.  Whether it be the horrible stretch marks all over my body, the fat, the saggy boobs (sorry TMI…), the small, but noticeable to me, hump on my nose, and the fact that my nose is bigger after pregnancy (I swear it is!), and so on…..  So…if I had to say right now if I wanted to have plastic surgery, my answer would be YES!

I would like to have a boob lift.  I don’t want them to be smaller or larger.  I just want them lifted a little bit.

I would like my nose to be smaller and the hump to be gone.  I hate seeing pictures of my profile.

Then later in life, when I’m done having babies…  I would like to have a tummy tuck.  I will probably never have a flat stomach without surgery.  My tummy has always been a problem area for me.  I don’t ever remember it being flat.  So… I just want to SOME DAY not have a tummy apron!  I know…gross…

And FYI….  I will probably never have any of these procedures done…but they are just things I think about having done…

5. What are your favorite jeans to wear?

Ok… this is going to sound very pathetic but…  I have ONE pair of jeans that I can fit.  ONE people!  They are a cheap Wal-Mart pair and they are really comfy!!!  I usually buy Old Navy jeans because they are comfy and they have short lengths, but I just don’t want to buy any right now because I’m not where I want to be with my weight.

Have a great weekend!

Sweating to the oldies…

Haha!  Not really…but kind of…

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about the fact that I NEED to lose some weight.  I WANT to lose weight, but even more… I NEED to lose weight.  Here are a few/the main reasons…:

  • My health.  High blood pressure and heart problems run in my family and I just really need to get in shape because I don’t want to have to deal with those problems one day, if I can avoid it!
  • Self esteem.  I have like ZERO self esteem.  When I look in the mirror I’m not happy with what I see.  I can’t fit any of my clothes.  I hate seeing myself in pictures.  I’m just really unhappy with the way I look right now.
  • I want to look good for my husband.  I know that he always tells me I am beautiful and that he loves me the way I am.  Smart man!  Haha!  But if I’m not happy with the way I look, then I don’t expect him to be happy with the way I look.  I just want to be sexy for him.  Haha!
  • My children.  I know, I only have one right now, but I’m just thinking about the future.  I just want to be healthy for them.  I always said I wanted to be a young mom (like early 20’s) so I could be able to get down in the floor and play with my kids.  And already at 27 25 ;-) it’s not an easy task getting down and wallowing in the floor with Sweet Pea.  I just think that if I was in better shape and maybe not so heavy, it might be easier….
  • Pregnancy.  I’m NOT pregnant.  But we want to have more children in the future.  When I got pregnant with Sweet Pea, I weighed 198 lbs.  Keep in mind, I’m only 5’0 short tall.  If I remember correctly, I was 242 lbs when I gave birth.  My OBGYN pretty much told me when I had her that I needed to lose a lot of weight before I had another baby because it is more risky the heavier you are and blah blah blah….  Yes… I know this!

So, here I am almost a year later and I am about 206-208 lbs.  I’ve been stuck here for months.  I haven’t done anything to try to get the weight off.  I haven’t tried dieting.  I haven’t been working out.  Nothing.  So, it’s my own fault.  I want to have our children fairly close together, but we can’t even think about getting pregnant again until I lose at least 60 lbs.

My goal is to not be over 200 lbs. when I give birth again.  So….if you do the math, I gained 44 lbs. while pregnant with Sweet Pea.  I would like to be around 140 (smaller would be better!) when I get pregnant again.  So…if I gain 40-50 lbs. next time around, I’ll still be under 200 lbs.

That is my plan.

How do I plan on getting to 140 lbs….?  I have no idea.  Haha!

I hate dieting.  I hate working out.  I love sweets and I love carbs.

Tonight I did a really old work out video…that’s why the title is what it is…  Only it wasn’t Richard Simmons….thank goodness!  We used to do those videos when I was younger.  So funny!

Anyway…  I bought The Firm back in 2003 (maybe?).  The one with the 3 videos (Cardio Sculpt, Ab Sculpt, and Body Sculpt) and the fanny lifter.  Well…I have never even opened the Body Sculpt and Ab Sculpt videos.  I used to do the Cardio Sculpt back in the day, and I hate it.

But it’s the only thing I have (other than a belly dancing workout DVD and it is just a total joke!  Haha!).  So I did the Cardio Sculpt tonight….well…..I did half of the video.  I sweated like crazy.  And most of you know that I HATE to sweat!  And I hate using weights.  Ugh……

I’d like to do P90X, but I don’t think I’m ready for that yet…  I just need some good cardio right now and I want something new and fun.

I’ve looked at some of the Biggest Loser videos and the Dance videos like the Julianne Hough video…  But I don’t know what would be best.

And as far as dieting goes…  I have all the Weight Watcher stuff, but I always feel like I’m starving myself when I do WW.  All I ever do is think about food and points and it drives me bonkers.  So… I guess my game plan is not to diet.  But make healthier choices.

I’m going to take baby steps.

My goal for tomorrow (or today since it’s after midnight) is to drink water instead of sweet tea and I’m going to TRY to not buy any more chocolate.  And I guess I’m going to do the Cardio Sculpt again tomorrow night….at least until I get a new video that I like better.

If anybody has any recommendations, please do tell!!!

Wish me luck….

Oh…and I’m going to take a before picture tomorrow, but I’m not posting it until I start to notice a change.

Also…I don’t have a set date that I want to lose it by…..  So that’s why I’m starting with baby steps…

Ok.  That’s all…

Top 2 Tuesday!

This week is Top 2 things I couldn’t live without!  As usual, this is kind of hard to do because there are a lot of things I think I can’t live without…but I’ll give you the top 2…

I cannot live without…

1.    My family.  I don’t know what I would do without them.  They really complete me!!!

[Picture taken on Father’s Day 2009 (Mr. Right’s first father’s day!).  She was so itty bitty!]

2.  My phone.  I can call people, text people, surf the web, take pictures, play games, pay bills, listen to music… You  name it!  I love my iPhone!

iphone

Of course, it wouldn’t be right if I didn’t list a few more things… haha!  I guess my number one should have been GOD!  He is #1!  And if I’m referring to material things that I cannot live without…. a vehicle (because I hate to walk or run and wouldn’t want to do that everywhere I go), a bed (because I’m a sleepaholic), chocolate (because I’m a chocoholic), a home (because I like to stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer and dry when it rains)...  Those are just a few…  ;-)

UA vs. Michigan and other stuff…

My MIL and I went to the UA vs. Michigan gymnastics meet tonight (Friday).  It was a lot of fun!  It was a first for both of us and we are definately going to more of these next season!  Hopefully we can order tickets early and maybe get better seats next time.  We were sitting 4 rows down from the very top.  It wasn’t all that bad, but I was getting a little nervous as we were going up.  For those who don’t know, I am really REALLY scared of heights!  Anyway…it was fun!  Oh…  Mr. Right and Sweet Pea had a daddy/daughter night at home.  They survived it and I didn’t worry like I thought I would.  I was proud of myself!  Haha!

Thursday, Sweet Pea and I went to eat lunch with Aunt Alice.  She has been on spring break this week.  We had mexican food and it was so good!  Sweet Pea even tried some refried beans and rice (just a little bit).  She seemed to like it just fine!  I decided to let her try my lemon that was in my tea…  She was not happy with it at all….as you can see from the pictures below.  I didn’t get a good picture of her “yucky face” but I tried!  She kept turning her head and putting her nose in the air when Alice tried giving it to her again.  Too funny!

SDC12868 SDC12869 SDC12870

We have been letting Sweet Pea try drinking from a sippy cup for a few months now.  She will play with it a little bit, but she still prefers her bottle.  Anywho…  I figured since she is coming up on a year old…it might be time to convert…??  I’m not sure of the age that people normally take the bottle away, but I guess it won’t hurt to try now…  She doesn’t know how to sit up and drink.  So, I’ve been trying to teach her to lean her head back to get the liquid in the tip.  I figured that the best way to teach her is to let her watch me do it.  So…. I’m going to start drinking from a sippy cut until she gets the hang of it.

SDC12873SDC12872

Don’t you just love my Betty Boop pj pants!  Ha!  And I just realized I have pink paint on my elbow…  I’m trying to paint her rocking chair…  Pictures to come when it’s done…

Today (Friday), I decided to let her drink straight from her cup because last night when she got her bath, she was trying to drink out of the cup I use to rinse her off with.  She seems to be more interested in it when there is no lid…  It makes more of a mess, but oh well…

SDC12874

Needless to say…she spilled it all over herself and me…  It was funny.  We will use the lid from now on and I will probably be drinking from a sippy cup for a while….  Whatever works!!!  :-)

Five Question Friday!

My Little Life

I always look forward to 5QF!  I’m not sure exactly why…maybe because it gives me something to blog about..??  Haha…  I feel like I’ve been slacking a little lately…  Oh well…

1. Have you ever had a celeb sighting?

Not that I recall…..  I’ve tried really hard to remember if I have, but I just can’t remember any.

2. What temperature do you keep your house?

Umm…it’s normally warmer than I like it to be, but it’s mainly because I am afraid that Sweet Pea is going to be cold.  And Mr. Right is always freezing, so….  I just walk around naked so I don’t die of a heat stroke!  Ha!  Just kidding!  Seriously though, we don’t have central heat and air.  We have window units for cold air and a gas wall heater for heat.  We haven’t been using the gas heater much this winter because, obviously, it’s not safe for Sweet Pea.  So, Maw Maw and Paw Paw gave us an Eden Pure heater for our Christmas present.  It’s really nice!  It keeps us warm and it is relatively safe for Sweet Pea.  We still don’t let her mess with it.  It’s on the other side of the baby gate.  :-)  So…to answer the question, I have no idea what the temp is because we don’t have a thermostat…  But it is always warm!  (Kind of ready for spring and summer so I can turn the air on!  Haha!)

3. Do you notice dust at other peoples homes?

I don’t recall looking for dust at other people’s houses….  I really hope that no one looks for it at my house because you will find a lot!  Haha…

4. What's the worst job you ever had?

Probably being a server…  or just working in the food industry-period!  I have worked with food on and off ever since I was 16 and it is definately not what I want to keep doing (when I finally do go back to work…unless it involves cake decorating or something like that…)

5. What is your most sentimental possession?

I guess my pictures and videos…  I’m sure I have some other stuff of sentimental value, but I just can’t think of anything specific…

Have a great weekend everybody!

**I installed a new commenting thingy...Disqus.  If I'm not mistaken, it will allow me to reply back to the comments, which I think is nice.

I’m a little indecisive sometimes…  I thought they were all cute, so I posted them all!

This one looks like I had an eyebrow lift performed on me!  Haha!  (Definately not on my list of plastic-surgeries-to-have-in-the-future…)  But Sweet Pea was cute in it, so I posted it.

She even had peas for lunch…  Not sure if you can see them on her mouth…but they were GREEN too!

SDC12860SDC12861

And YES I went out in public with Sweet Pea’s green bow in my hair.  I never have anything green to wear when St. Patrick’s Day rolls around…  So I had to improvise…  :-)

These are just some pictures I have taken over the past couple of days that I thought were cute…

Does anyone else have children that wake up looking like this?!  HAHA!  I swear to you, this is exactly how she looked when she woke up!  I couldn’t help but snap a picture!  It was hilarious!  Gotta love some baby bed head!  And she is so happy when she wakes up (most of the time)!
